Forrest is a mathematician, statistician, and data scientist working to solve the world’s most challenging inferential problems. He has worked in a wide variety of fields, including neuroscience, epidemiology, bioinformatics, human rights, and security. His technical expertise includes statistics, mathematical models, networks, algorithms, stochastic simulation, optimization, and causal inference.Forrest is also a faculty member at Yale University in the departments of Biostatistics, Statistics & Data Science, Operations, and Ecology & Evolutionary Biology. At Yale, he runs a lab dedicated to research to public health and epidemiology. Forrest has authored more than 60 publications and received the NIH Director’s New Innovator Award.Forrest first worked with Whitespace as a consultant to help develop and launch the Data Pandemos project, an initiative to map and track close interpersonal contact during the COVID-19 pandemic using mobile device data.
